The recently released ‘Kill/Dil’ showcased a home which had a view of the running metro in the backdrop. Similarly, Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Ek Villian’ featured a very usual home but with a designer feel, having Bandra-Worli Sea Link at backdrop. Do you also own a home with a similar view? If yes, then you have the chance of getting your home featured on the 70mm screen.
What do filmmakers look for
Gone are the days when only luxurious homes were picked for shootings. These days it’s all about the view. “Earlier we preferred homes on the outskirts of the city because of privacy and independence during shooting. Now, as the scene demands mid-city shots, we look for homes with the metro or the main road view,” says Jayesh Chandi, casting director.
Locations
Powai in Mumbai, Lonavala, Karjat around Mumbai, newly built townships in Navi Mumbai and Colaba Causeway are some of the common places where properties remain in demand, not only for films but even for ads and TV serial shootings.
“We look for locations which have easy connectivity to the main city as our junior artists also need to travel and the production house has to bear the expenses. We also prefer Tier II cities such as Jaipur, Lucknow, Bhopal and Indore as it gives a ‘real’ feel to the movie,” says Koel Mitra, Motion Flicks private limited.
